Most people don’t like the vegan lifestyle. They see it as a life of sacrifice and renunciation, and vegans are often seen as extremists or members of a sect trying to “convert” as many people as possible. For this reason many people often do not start this path because they fear they will be judged or excluded. I also had these thoughts before starting the challenge but I have seen that many people have positively welcomed this change. However there are several situations in which I would like to eat like everyone else, for example when I take a pizza or go out to eat with friends

Hi Beatrice, Thanks for your posts! Yes, Week 2 shifted from thinking about practical changes (habits, goals, to do's) into observing and reflecting on how culture influences us. For example, what people think and say about our challenge, their expectations and beliefs, and how these affect us. We also looked at how we are influencing people around us - has anyone around you talked about trying veganism themelves? Like you, I also thought that many people see veganism as sacrifice, but I think that is shifting in society. I am so glad to read that people around you are positive and welcoming your experiment. You have really showed a lot of courage stepping outside your comfort zone. It's so interesting that you got a different reaction to the one you expected. I guess this experiment is a chance for you to also reflect on your own feelings about veganism and separate them out from what people around you think, which is what you talk about in your last sentence of the post above. Maybe your version of veganism doesn't have to be 100% all or nothing :) We are nearly at the half way point. It's great following your journey so far and I am looking forward to the next two weeks. Best wishes, Leonie at cCHANGE. Respond
